MEASUREMENT & INTERPRETATION OF FITNESS
(PE 254)
I. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course covers the theory and practical application of current testing procedures and instrumentation used in exercise testing. Students learn to perform and interpret the basic measurement protocols for cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, body composition and blood pressure.

III. GRADING: Total points available = 250 pts
A. Exam.
1 Written Exam (approximately at midterm) 50 pts
(NO MAKEUP EXAMS will be given without arrangements being made prior to exam day and without cause)
B. Quizzes 35 pts
7 Testing Protocol Quizzes each worth 5 points
(Quizzes can be repeated to improve scores at any time during
the semester. Repeats must arrange with your instructor to be
taken outside of class meeting time.)
C. Lab reports 75 pts
5 labs each worth 15 points
D. Final Project 90 pts
Portfolio (50 pts)
Practical (40 pts)
G. Extra Credit EC = 10 pts
Extra credit will be awarded to students who miss <2 lecture classes.
(Additional Extra Credit may be assigned throughout the semester)
Plagiarism or any other form of academic dishonesty will result in no credit (0 points) on the assignment or examination without an opportunity for make-up.
