The main religion in Taiwan is kind of a combination of Buddhism and Taoism. Of course, we have some people believe in other religions as well, such as Catholics, Christians, Mormon, and so on, but they are only a little portion when we compare them with others as a whole.
Taiwanese are not as sensitive as Americans to the topic of religion. Religion is not a taboo to Taiwanese. We believe in what we believe. Also, we are open-minded and flexible with the religion matter. Take the example of Buddhism and Taoism: They are basically two different religions, but people in Taiwan usually believe in both of them. Most of us can't tell these two religions apart since we do not really care. However, some people are Buddhism only and some are Taoism only. The majority of people are somewhat in the middle. They do not conflict with each other. In addition, we never have war happened which based on religion.
