BIO100:
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NATURAL HISTORY
Rediscover that you
can enjoy learning!
BIOLOGY (AND GEOLOGY)
100--SPRING '09
It is with great regret that I must inform you that BIO100
will be cancelled for the Spring Semester.
I thank you for your interest; be aware that BIO100 & GEO100 WILL BE OFFERED
AGAIN IN THE FALL.
The cancellation is due to a combination of factors including the current state
budget/financial difficulties. I hope that you stay interested in the course
and encourage you to contact me regarding any questions you have, and to visit
the BIO100 website for updates and information on BIO100 and GEO100 for the FALL
09 semester.
Until then I wish you good luck on your finals and want to wish you happy
holidays,
If you have any questions regarding the course please contact
me at: mcovill@cerritos.edu Thank you to all of you who
have been a part of Bio100 and
participating in our first Eastern Sierra and Joshua Tree field trip.
I would greatly appreciate any any pictures you have and/or
feedback (positive or constructive) about the course you want to
share.
Bio100 and Geo100 will be offered again in Fall of '09; it will include some
new locations as well as some locations visited last trip.
Thanks,
Matt
GENERAL
DESCRIPTION: The course explores the geology, ecology,
plants, and animals of specific sites in southern California including
some cultural history and human impacts on the landscape.
NOTE:
Biology 100 DOES NOT
fulfill your general education life science requirement.
TRANSPORTATION AND EQUIPMENT: Cerritos College provides field
trip transportation in the form of busses, and one field trip will
require overnight camping. Students will cook in self-organized
groups, and should expect to have to provide their own camping equipment
(see below).
Biology 100 is a FUN AND INFORMATIVE field-trip based
course; Just see for yourself!
