FlashCard
Templates
How This Works:
Listed below are a number of flashcard templates
as Adobe PDF files. The idea behind these templates is to help you study
better and potentially earn higher grades through the time-tested use of
flashcards. Each template consists of one half (i.e., one side of a
flashcard), the second side you will have to fill out on your own (after all
you've got to put in some work).
The Flashcards are potentially useful for
both AP150 and AP120 Students.
A 4"X6" index card is recommended (they
should all fit this size). You'll have to cut out the image or words and
paste them onto an index card.
Note that there may not be templates for all
the material you must know for you class. Being completely prepared is
your responsibility; these are provided to merely assist you on the way.
Good luck!
BODY ORGANIZATION AND REGIONS FLASH CARDS
Microscope and Mitosis Flash Cards
Be sure to learn to identify the phases of
cell division as
well as the structures listed on your lab handout (e.g., chromosomes,
chromatin, spindle fibers.........)
- Microscope:
Remember you need
to identify the part and its function. I would suggest 2 sets of
cards, 1 for function, another for part name.
- Mitosis/Cell Cycle: Remember that these are "snapshots" of the
continuous cell-division process; actual images and other diagrams will vary
in appearance. Be sure to know phase name and the events that are
occurring. Two sets of cards would be ideal, one for phase, another
for events. Two diagrams of each phase are on the template.
AXIAL SKELETON FLASH CARDS
For individual bones, color in the bone on the
printed picture, write the name of bone on opposite side. For bone
features (foramen, processes, condyles, sutures, etc.) either color in or use a
large arrow/pointer on the picture. Name of feature on opposite side.
APPENDICULAR FLASH CARDS
For individual bones, color in the bone on the
printed picture, write the name of bone on opposite side. For bone
features (foramen, processes, condyles, sutures, etc.) either color in or use a
large arrow/pointer on the picture. Name of feature on opposite side.
I don't have a image of every bone in every view, so you'll have to work with
what is available here (or make some cards of your own).
SKELETON FLASH CARDS
Color the bone in on the picture; name of bone on
opposite side.
MUSCLE FLASH CARD
-
AP120--Muscle Actions:
Actions are provided, you need to find the correct muscle to write on the
back side (suggestion: use the table in your lab packet).
Muscle Diagrams:
Color in the muscle on the diagram, put the muscles name on the back
(recommended format). A muscle may appear on many of the different
templates below (i.e., the templates are redundant) so look over them all and
use the one(s) that work best for you.
