Parking at Cerritos College is by permit only, with the exception motorcycle zones. Permits may be purchased for the day or for the semester.
Parking Areas - Vehicles authorized to park on the Cerritos College campus shall be parked only in areas that have been painted with lines indicating parking stalls. Park only in the area designated by your permit except for students with a valid "DP" plate or placard and a current parking permit.
All Parking Stalls/Lots on Campus are Color Coded:
- WHITE Student parking, current term or daily parking permit required
- YELLOW Faculty and Staff permit required
- GREEN Timed stalls 2 hr max parking time limit (pay and display permit required for these stalls)
- BLUE Valid "DP" plate or placard
- WHITE GRID MARKED "MOTORCYCLE" Motorcycle parking only
- PINK Cosmetology Patron parking only. Special permit required
Daily Permits are available from permit dispensers located in the parking areas throughout the campus. Each permit is valid only on the day it is purchased and is to be displayed, number side up, on the dashboard. This permit is valid only in white-lined student stalls. Daily permits are $2.00 and should be disposed of after use. No refunds on daily permits are available.
Special Event Parking Permits: Special Event parking has been defined as events that do not involve the college staff or its students. Examples include High School Basketball Tournaments, H.S. Football games, youth athletic events, and Jiu- Jitsu tournaments, to name a few. Cost: $ 5.00.
Permits can be purchased via Park Mobile App. or at the parking permit machines located in parking lots.
Student Semester Permits can be ordered online by logging into MyCerritos at http://my.cerritos.edu and clicking the link "Buy Parking Permit". Permits may also be purchased on campus at the Admissions and Records office during office hours and at Campus Police when admissions and records is closed and on weekends. Permits must be properly displayed at all times while parked on campus. PERMITS MUST BE AFFIXED TO THE INSIDE LOWER LEFT OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THE PERMIT IS VISIBLE IN ITS ENTIRETY AT ALL TIMES. Directions for properly displaying the permit are provided with it. Students may park in any white-lined stall.
Refunds for semester permits will be credited only if all classes within the semester have been officially dropped within the appropriate deadline for the semester. The deadline is defined as the end of the second week of full semester length classes or 10% of class meetings for shorter than semester length classes. The permit must be surrendered. See current class schedule for refund process.
Staff Parking is reserved in yellow lined stalls for Cerritos College staff only. Staff permits are available for the semester or for the year at the Campus Police Station. College staff are also expected to obey all parking rules and regulations and display their parking permits in their vehicles at all times while on campus.
Disabled Persons may park in designated Disabled Person Parking stalls with a valid DP plate or placard. Students are not authorized to park in yellow lined staff parking areas unless they are disabled and have a DP plate or placard and have a student parking permit displayed.
Motorcycles are not required to have a parking permit if parked in marked cycle zones. A parking permit is needed to park in vehicle stalls.
Loss of a Permit will require a replacement at full price. Protect your permit responsibly.
Possession of a Permit does not guarantee a parking space on campus. It merely authorizes use of the parking areas, but only when the permit is properly displayed.
Parking Violations will be cited. Citations will be issued to any vehicle on campus not properly displaying a current valid parking permit, or illegally parked. Citations are written by Police Cadets who are also on patrol campus-wide for your safety and assistance.
Off-Campus Parking is extremely restricted. Parking in surrounding residential areas is by City issued permit only. Student vehicles parking in the surrounding neighborhoods are subject to being cited, towed away and impounded by the city at the student's expense. Towing can be immediate and fines and fees may run hundreds of dollars per towed vehicle. Parking in the shopping centers adjacent to campus is also prohibited by the property owners. Student vehicles parked in these lots are impounded by the property managers, at the student's expense.
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Permits may be replaced by purchasing a new one at the Campus Police Department.
Bicycles must park in District provided racks. Bicycles attached to railing, trees, light poles etc. are subject to removal by Campus Police.
